I am a twenty something mother of two who lives in South Texas. I am proud to be Chicana and dream of one day telling the stories of my familia and how I grew up along the brush and mesquite trees. I listened as the trains passed through our tiny town and as our only future was Military, Oil Field work, and for those of us lucky enough college.
I watched as I tried to bury who I was inside of me. A tejana who loved boots as much as she did high heels, the girl who was in awe of the ranch around her, a person who was as free as the Pasainos (road runners) who crossed the county roads.
I am Jessie. Nothing more and nothing less. This is my Life Story...
